The Characters of When’s Daddy Comin’ Home? September 19, 2016 Duffy’s daddy is missing in battle, and she wishes with all her heart that he will soon be found and return home. In addition to being a gifted musician, she is the leader of her three BFFs. Audrey is primpy, LaWana is joyful and wants to try anything and everything, while Roselle is thin and angry that her chest is not growing. The girls have not yet been kissed but LaWana insists Duffy devise a plan so each of them can be kissed, not by one boy, but by three each! The only condition is that each of the boys brings his own mouthwash.     Bryan, a trumpet player in the school band, falls for her. Later, when he kisses her on the cheek, she blushes and becomes a colorful butterfly, rises from the floor, and flits in the air down the hallway and back. But he has a family emergency and leaves town.    The girls then volunteer to play in the high school band’s Easter Parade where many...strange...things happen! –Rachell Elaine Jackson
